Tour Itinerary

  • Day 1 Shanghai

      The morning excursion includes the Jade Buddha Temple, Jiangnan Silk Museum and Yu Garden. Have a Chinese lunch and then visit the Shanghai Museum. After that, continue to visit Oriental Pearl Tower and a jade factory. Make a free tour to Nanjing Road in the later afternoon and then stay in the 4-star hotel (included in the quotation) for 1 night.

    - Jade Buddha Temple: This is the most important Buddhist temple in Shanghai. It was built between 1911 and 1918. The centrepiece is a 2m-high, white jade, seated Buddha. There is also a reclining Buddha.
    - Shanghai Museum: used to be near the Bund. It is now situated in People's Square and its new buildings were built in 1996, designed by a Shanghai architect named Xing Tonghe. The new design symbolizes China's ancient understanding of the world: round sky and square earth. The museum has a circular roof and rectangular base. It stores 120,000 precious artifacts, which narrate a story of China's 5,000-year civilization.

    - Yu Garden: is one of the most famous gardens in China and is national heritage listed. It was built in 1559 and extended in 1577. Each section of the garden is separated by curved white walls crowned with the head and body of a dragon on them. It's named after the original owner.

    - Oriental Pearl TV Tower: It was designed by Jia Huan Cheng of the Shanghai Modern Architectural Design Co. Ltd. Construction began in 1991 and the tower was completed in 1995. At 468 m (1,535 feet) high, it is the tallest tower in Asia, and the third tallest tower in the world. The Oriental Pearl Tower belongs to the World Federation of Great Towers.

    - Nanjing Road: is the main shopping street of Shanghai, China, one of the world's busiest shopping streets. In a broad sense, Nanjing Road includes East-Nanjing Road and West-Nanjing Road, while in narrow sense, it only refers to the Nanjing Road before 1945 (today’s East-Nanjing Road), which is pedestrianized

      Transfer to Suzhou by private vehicle. Today’s tour begins by visiting the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Then make a tour to the Grand Canal by boat. Have a Chinese lunch and then make a tricycle tour around the Suzhou Old Town to explore the local people’s life. After that, pay a visit the No.1 Silk Factory. You will take a night train to Huangshan by a soft seat train.
    - Humble Administrator's Garden: Covering 51,950 sq.m, the Humble Administrator's Garden is the largest one of all classical gardens in Suzhou. It is centered upon the broad expanse of a lake, making up about one fifth of the total area. With well-spaced buildings, the garden landscape and water space are simple, extensive and natural, possessing the traditional appearances of the Ming Dynasty. It is divided into three parts; the eastern, middle and the western parts. The house lies in the south of the garden.

    - Grand Canal: The Grand Canal ranks alongside the Great Wall of China as the country's greatest engineering achievement and it is the longest man-made waterway in world. Cruising the Canal in Suzhou you can see the local life of the people living on the both sides of the canal as well.

     After breakfast, transfer to Mt. Yellow ( Huangshan Mountain) by private car/van/coach. After about 4 hours driving, arrive at Tunxi. Enjoy a Chinese lunch. After that, visit the Hongcun Village make a free tour round the Old Street in the city. Visit a Chinese Ink Factory in the later afternoon.

    - Hongcun Village is located at the foot of the southwest side of Mt. Huangshan, only 11 kilometers away from Yixian town. It is a unique, buffalo-shaped ancient village in the ancient village. The whole village is measured to be 30 hectares; it is bedded at Mt. Leigang, facing Nanhu Lake.

      Drive to Mt.Huangshan and begin your exploration to it. After that, check in the 4-star hotel on the mountain (included in the quotation).
    - Huangshan Mountain: The renowned Four Wonders of Mt. Huangshan are the spectacular rocks, odd-shaped pines, hot springs and sea of clouds. Other attractions are lakes, waterfalls, streams, rare flowers and animals. Forests cover 83.4% of the area, with some 1,452 species of native plant, which fall into 203 families. Mt Huangshan also has a rich cultural heritage. Xu Xiake, a famous traveler of the Ming Dynasty visited Huangshan twice, and described it in a poem, calling it best of all mountains in China.

      Take cable car down the mountain. Drive to Hangzhou in the morning for 2.5 hours. After lunch, pay a visit to the most famous tea village—Meijiawu. Then go to visit the Huqingyu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum. After that, check in the 4-star hotel (included in the quotation) for 2 nights stay.

    - Meijiawu Tea Village: To understand the brilliant past and equally bright future of tea in China, there is one place where a visit is a must, Meijiawu Village, Hangzhou that is located in the West Lake District. Here elaborate tea taking ceremonies are held, you will be able to understand why partaking in tea ceremonies is of such importance in Chinese culture.

    - The Huqingyu Tang Chinese Medicine Museum is the only Chinese herbal medicine museum in China housed in the ancient buildings of the famous Hangzhou Chinese herbal medicine shop. The exhibition halls introduce the origin, development, and application of traditional Chinese medicine and its role in the world history of medicine. Samples of the herbal plants and a hand- processing workshop are among the displays. The museum also includes a clinic and a restaurant for Chinese herbal medicine food.

      Make a cruise on the picturesque West Lake and then visit the Lingyin Temple.
    - West Lake: An old saying: “There is heaven above and Shu-Hang below.” West Lake is the most beautiful and famous place in Hangzhou. Hangzhou’s fame is largely due to the picturesque West Lake. Lying in the west of the city, and surrounded by hills on three sides, the West Lake is 3.2 kilometers from north to south and 2.8 kilometers from east to west with a circumference of 15 kilometers. Its water surface encompasses 5.8 square kilometers, while the islands on the lake occupy 6.3 square kilometers. Its average depth of water is 1.55 meters, the shallowest is less than one meter deep, and the deepest being about 2.8 meters.
    - Lingyin Temple, west of the famous West Lake in East China's Hangzhou city, stands at the foot of the Beigao Peak and faces the Feilai (Peak That Flew Here) Peak across a stream. With many old trees, groves of bamboo, and quiet and beautiful surroundings, the Lingyin Temple is one of the most famous temples south of the Yangtze River.

  • Day 7 Wuzhen Shanghai

      Drive to Wuzhen and make a full day excursion in Wuzhen. After that, drive back to Hangzhou and then transfer back to Shanghai. Tour ends while arriving at your Shanghai hotel.

    - Wuzhen Old Town: On both sides of a slabstone-paved street stand pubs, restaurants, pawnshops, weaving and dyeing establishments, and other businesses, all housed in wooden structures of brown. Rivers and creeks spanned with stone bridges in various designs flow through the town, and the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal passes by. Old waterside houses and outside corridors can be found here and there. This is the ancient town of Wuzhen.
